Sélestat. The gardeners celebrated Saint Roch

The Sélestat gardeners' guild, represented by its grand master, Claude Bauer, celebrated its patron saint, Saint Roch, on Sunday, August 17. The procession, which left Place De Lattre de Tassigny, reached the forecourt of Saint Georges Church for a blessing, followed by a thanksgiving mass celebrated by Canon Joseph Lachmann.

The Saint Roch procession is an ancient tradition in Sélestat. Originally, Saint Roch was celebrated on August 16, but in Sélestat, this saint is celebrated on the Sunday after the Assumption.
