Colmar Wine Fair 2025. Ti Marie, from Miss Réunion to opening act at Julien Doré's concert

The name Marie Payet may ring a bell for longtime beauty pageant fans. The runner-up in the 2012 Miss France competition— won by Alsatian Delphine Wespiser —earned her spot on stage by winning the RIFFX competition with her track " À l'eau ." It's a track from her upcoming EP, due out later this year, which she'll also be performing at the Foire aux vins festival.
What's your state of mind? Not too stressed before the show?
This is my first big date. I've already played on stages in Reunion Island or in Parisian cabarets, but never in front of 10,000 people. I've had palpitations for three days. I think I'll start using essential oils to calm myself down... (laughs) Luckily, I think the Colmar crowd will be more cheerful than the Parisian crowd.

How would you define your music?
It's hard to define it. I sing and compose a lot based on my emotions. I would still say that I'm closer to the music of the 2000s and artists like Tal or Shy'm. There are also a lot of influences from home. During the concert, I'll retrace my journey through songs. There will also be covers sung in Reunion Creole. The goal is to offer the audience a 30-minute trip to Reunion Island. In fact, I'm calling on all the minority groups on the islands to come and get the party started.
Going from Miss Réunion to opening for Julien Doré at the Wine Fair is an unusual journey...
The Miss France competition was fun, but I saw it as a springboard for my music. Even back then, when I was 18, it was my passion. But when you're in Réunion, it limits your ability to reach mainland France. That's why I moved to Paris three years ago. And so far, it's been pretty successful!
Ti Marie concert on Monday, July 28 at 8 p.m. at the Colmar Parc Expo open-air theater, opening for Julien Doré. Last seats available on the Wine Fair website .
