The Chilean Attorney General's Office and the Chilean Investigative Police (PDI) handed over six luxury watches to the US FBI on Tuesday that were stolen in Los Angeles from Canadian actor Keanu Reeves in 2023.
"This was a procedure that was developed at the end of last year when a person was arrested and these items were seized ," said Marcelo Varas, head of the Robbery Investigation Brigade (BIRO), at a press conference following the delivery, held at the U.S. Embassy in Chile.

According to Varas, Reeves recognized the accessories and all the objects found in the possession of the only person convicted in the case in Chile, a 24-year-old man sentenced to prison for the crimes of robbery with intimidation and customs fraud. The items were stolen from the actor's property in Los Angeles in 2023, and, according to the Prosecutor's Office, the perpetrators of the theft were not the same as those who smuggled the items into Chile.

The watches were discovered as part of investigations conducted in late 2024 into violent home robberies in the eastern part of the Santiago metropolitan area. The objects were found in a home in the Peñalolén commune and were identified by Reeves a month ago.
One of the pieces is a Rolex Submariner watch, valued at 13 million pesos ($13,500 or €11,600 at today's exchange rate) "which bears an inscription on the back from the movie John Wick, which also features the actor's name," said prosecutor Claudia Barraza of the Eastern Analysis Prosecutor's Office.
The loot is valued at more than $124,000 or €107,000, according to police. Information from EFECONSTANZA GOMEZ GUASCA, PORTFOLIO EDITORIALPortafolio
