HBO Max raises prices in Mexico: learn about the new costs per plan

The streaming service HBO Max has informed its users in Mexico about a price increase for its subscriptions. The platform, which recently reverted to its original name after becoming Max, notified subscribers via an official email.
The message indicates that the new prices will be applied starting September 26, 2025 , or on the next billing date, depending on the plan. Only those with the Basic plan with ads will retain their current price.
For monthly payments, the costs are as follows:
- Basic with ads: 149 pesos (no change)
- Standard: 239 pesos (previously 199 pesos)
- Platinum: 299 pesos (no change)
For annual subscriptions, prices are adjusted to:
- Basic with ads: 1,429 pesos (previously 1,188 pesos)
- Standard: 2,148 pesos (previously 1,788 pesos)
- Platinum: 2,868 pesos (previously 2,388 pesos)
Users who have 50% off promotional offers will retain their discount as long as their subscription remains active and the original promotional terms are met.
This increase comes weeks after HBO Max announced in the United States the possibility of charging additional fees to those who share their accounts. At this time, the platform has not confirmed whether this measure will also be implemented in Mexico.
The adjustment reflects the company's strategy to balance operating costs and maintain its content offering, including exclusive series and recent releases. Standard and Platinum plan users should check their emails to confirm the new rate and evaluate whether they wish to continue with the service before the change.
