And just like that, the spring/summer 2026 fashion season begins. Copenhagen Fashion Week kicked off this week, which means all the fashion girls are emerging from summer hibernation (a.k.a. checking out of the Surf Lodge). While summer has kept me busy with no shortage of trends to cover—toe rings, shell jewelry, and genie pants, to name a few—I have to admit: I feel alive. There’s just something about a fashion week. Ahead, see and shop the hottest trends from Copenhagen.

Casual Cool

The lines defining streetwear get blurrier every year. From Salomon sneakers to the athletic jersey trend, laid-back looks are totally en vogue.

Surprise, surprise. The summer of polka dots appears to be melting into the fall of polka dots. My secret hope is that gingham carries through, too.

The day I graduated from my high school uniform, I thought I’d never wear a long-sleeved, collared polo ever again. But truth be told, these rugby shirts—which have been cropping up more and more lately—are so fun. What a great way to play with colors and stripes.

Although I’ve never thought of it before this, I suppose sheer and semi-sheer maxi skirts are the ideal transitional piece: breathable, yet not too summery. From lace to mesh, many of the most stylish attendees are wearing this trend. (Some are even layering another skirt over a see-through one!)

Hoods and Headscarves

As you might have noticed by this point, everyone seems to be wearing hair scarves. Are they growing out baby bangs? Did they skip a wash day? Entirely possible—but I’m into the trend for aesthetic reasons as well as practical ones.
