This number of Mexican women die from heart disease every minute

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has a strategy focused on promoting a balanced diet, physical exercise, and disease prevention and timely treatment.
Dr. Célida Duque Molina, Director of Medical Services, emphasized that the strategy consists of three A's: A's for healthy eating, with more fresh foods and fewer processed foods; more home-cooked foods and less fast food; and more plain water and fewer sugary drinks .
“The second A stands for physical activity, which you can do in the office where you work, such as taking the stairs instead of using the elevator, gradual walking, running, swimming, and yoga. Finally, the A stands for on time: On time for vaccination, on time for screening, and on time for correcting habits,” he said.
He pointed out that Social Security has almost 30 million women beneficiaries at different stages of life, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in the country. , so prevention is very important.
"What we need to make clear today is that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the country, and that women cannot change some genetic or birth conditions, but we can significantly change many lifestyle factors, such as the early detection of hypertension, diabetes, cancer, and, of course, cerebrovascular disease," she indicated.
For her part, Dr. Gabriela Borrayo Sánchez, Social Security Innovation Coordinator, commented that The Triad for Health has to do with promoting healthy habits, nutrition, physical activity and, above all, seeking medical attention as soon as any risk factor is detected. .
He warned that In Mexico, a woman dies every 5 minutes from heart disease, but 80 percent of cases can be prevented. , which is why prevention days are important.
Meanwhile, Dr. Guillermo Careaga Reina, general director of the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) at the CMN La Raza General Hospital, indicated that sometimes patients come for care when their illness is already very advanced and treatment options are diminishing .
"A strategy like the one we are addressing today will undoubtedly allow us to reduce the number of complications, the frequency with which these types of diseases occur, and the severity of the damage they cause. Therefore, it is important that this plan for early detection of controllable risk factors be implemented at the institute. Women in our country play a leading role in the family," she said.
