These are the most common intestinal parasites

Health, in general, requires care to avoid problems such as parasites, but in this sense, which are the most common and what do they cause?
Intestinal parasitosis is a contagious infection that affects both children and adults, as a result of ingesting contaminated food or water. , warned medical specialists from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
Intestinal parasites, they say, are the most persistent health problem in the world, causing anemia, low weight, malnutrition, delayed growth, and affecting school performance and children's activities. .
The most common, they noted, are roundworms and taenia solium (tapeworm), both of which lodge in the intestine of the infected person. In rural tropical areas, hookworm (a parasite that penetrates through hands and feet) develops.
In its life cycle, the tapeworm produces eggs, called cysticerci, which lodge and affect the brain, eyes and muscles, giving rise to the disease known as cysticercosis . The symptoms of tapeworm patients are stomach pain, weight loss, flatulence and headache. .
Intestinal parasitosis invades other organs through the circulation, such as the heart, liver, and lungs; however, it is sometimes asymptomatic . The disease, they add, manifests with paleness and diarrhea and must be treated promptly, as complications will require surgical management .
Roundworm is an endemic disease with a high social component and can be controlled , but difficult to eliminate.
Preventive measures against intestinal parasitosis, the IMSS specialist explains, are linked to changing hygiene habits .
To prevent the disease, doctors recommend washing your hands, especially after using the bathroom and before eating; not eating raw meat, vegetables, or unwashed fruit; boiling drinking water for at least one minute, especially for infants and children; and avoiding walking barefoot or wearing open-toed shoes on wet dirt or sandy soil to prevent hookworm infection .
