Spotify rules: This will be the song of the summer in Spain in 2025.

For years, neither radio stations, nor MTV, nor record stores, have dictated what the song of the summer will be. Now, it's streaming platforms, and Spotify in particular, that handle the most accurate data and can most accurately predict what the hit song of the holidays will be, what people will dance to in clubs, what will be playing in the background at beach bars while we have a drink to refresh ourselves.
With catchy rhythms , lyrics that stick in your head, and international collaborations, the platform has compiled the tracks that are already dominating playlists and promise to accompany us on the beach, on the road, and at every party or special moment this summer. Thirteen of the twenty tracks are, as expected, collaborations. And in addition to providing the list, Spotify has also focused on the musical trends that will be most popular in our country these months.
The platform highlights that "a song that is sure to rack up a large number of plays this summer in Spain" will be "La Plena - W Sound 05," by W Sound, Beéle, and Ovy On The Drums . Other songs featured will include "Droga," by Mora and C Tangana ; "Verano Rosa," by Karol G and Feid; "6 de febrero," by Aitana; and "Baile Inolvidable," by Bad Bunny.
The top 20 songs that will be part of the soundtrack of summer in our country include "Soleao" by Myke Towers and Quevedo; "Blackout" by Emilia, TINI, and Nicki Nickole; "Mojaíta" by Lola Indigo; "Malibú" by Rusowsky; and "Da Me" by Bad Gyal.
As for this summer's trends, aside from the usual reggaeton and Latin and Spanish pop, Latin Afrobeat is the sound of the moment in Spain and Latin America. Afrobeat is the most popular genre of modern African urban music (with artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy), and now Spanish-speaking artists like Quevedo, Alejandro Sanz, and Shakira are embracing it. The undisputed leader of this movement is Colombian artist Beéle, who currently has five songs in the top 10 on the "Top 50: Spain" playlist.
In Spain, the urban genre scene has also been particularly enthusiastic, creating " afrochuleando ", a new sound that blends both worlds, and of which on the list we have the song "Rihanna", by Oscar el Ruso and Samuel G. This represents a clear example of how new sounds merge with existing ones, influencing and transforming current music.

This summer also sees the presence of local female pop stars such as Lola Indigo, Aitana, and Bad Gyal, with songs like "Mojaíta," "6 de febrero," and "Da Me," respectively. These artists perfectly exemplify the continued relevance of pop music in the national music scene.
Meanwhile, the new Spanish indie also makes its way onto the list with "Malibú," by rusowsky, a member of the Rusia-IDK collective who recently released their debut album, "Daisy."
As in previous years, one of the key trends continues to be the urban genre, with major international artists such as Myke Towers and Quevedo with their "Soleao," or the Argentine collaboration between Emilia, TINI, and Nicki Nickole on "Blackout."
"This summer, Spotify playlists will feature local artists such as Aitana, Quevedo, and Bad Gyal, alongside major Latin American urban artists like Bad Bunny and Karol G. Songs like 'La Plena - W Sound 05' and 'Malibú' reflect the musical variety and richness that our platform will experience during the summer season," highlights Darío Manrique, Editorial Lead, Spain & Italy at Spotify.
