Bullfighting Circuits will continue to manage the El Puerto bullring for the next four seasons.

Bullfighting Circuits will continue to manage the El Puerto bullring for the next four seasons.

The Local Government Board of the City Council of El Puerto de Santa María has approved this Thursday the awarding of the management of the Plaza Real de Toros to the company Circuitos Taurinos SL, directed by the businessman Carlos Zúñiga , who will continue to manage the El Puerto bullring during the 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 seasons. Circuitos Taurinos has been the winning company in a tender, which has always prioritized quality and fans.

Zúñiga was the winner of the public competition held by the City Council, with an annual fee of 21,000 euros. The city's mayor, Germán Beardo, emphasized that "El Puerto will be on par with many top-class bullrings, maintaining the quality of a long-standing and established bullring, a benchmark in the summer for the country. It also offers a place for promising young bullfighters with bullfighting competitions with picadors, essential for the regeneration of the bullfighting hierarchy."

Beardo has announced that the contract will be signed in the coming days, along with the official presentation of the posters, convinced that Circuitos Taurinos, "which has managed the Plaza Real for the last four years, will once again fill the Plaza del Puerto with luxury posters, featuring top figures and the best irons, to once again turn the city into a leading reference point for the fans."

Each season will include eight events: five bullfights, one bullfight with picadors, and two practical classes. In addition to meeting the minimum requirements of the new specifications—which establish at least four bullfights and one practical class per year—the Bullfighting Circuits proposal significantly expands the program with an additional bullfight or bullfight with rejones, an additional bullfight with picadors, two tentaderos for students of the "La Gallosina" Local Bullfighting School, and an additional practical class for the School's students.

Bullfighting Circuits also incorporates specific measures to promote fandom, accessibility, and support for young people by offering a minimum of 1,000 season tickets for young people aged 30 and over each season for bullfighting events. These tickets are offered with a 50% discount on the standard rate. Tickets are located in the sun-filled stands, the shaded second-floor stands, and the sun-filled second-floor stands. The winning bid also includes a communication and promotional campaign for the season, valued at €25,000, with advertising inserts both in the city and in national media outlets.

Germán Beardo especially thanked Carmelo Navarro, as well as the Culture, Contracting, and Intervention departments, for their work in bringing this four-year contract forward. This is the result of rigorous work and a deep commitment to bullfighting, which guarantees quality programming in the Plaza Real, strengthens ties with youth, protects the fundamental role of the "La Gallosina" Bullfighting School, and promotes the festival throughout the year.

The official posters for the 2025 season will be announced in the coming days, marking the beginning of a new era in the management of one of Spain's most iconic bullrings.
