Family suddenly has to vacate hotel in Türkiye one week before departure

A family from Vienna had to abruptly change their vacation in Turkey. After one week, they were kicked out of their hotel in Side, even though they had booked a two-week stay.
Birgit from Austria traveled to Turkey with her husband and two children for vacation. The family landed in Antalya on June 12 and checked into their booked hotel in the resort of Side on Turkey's southern Mediterranean coast. After a week, the relaxation was over.
The family was asked to vacate the hotel immediately, even though they had booked another week. " Today" tells their story.
All guests had to leave the hotel quickly and move to another one. They had no say in the selection, and there were no return flight offers. "Everything had to happen very quickly," Birgit told "Heute."
Despite the complications, the family decided to spend the remaining time on the Turkish Riviera. As it later turned out, the reason for the eviction was a dispute between the hotel operator and the owner.

- Contractual rights : Check the terms and conditions of your booking agreement to determine what rights and obligations both parties have. If the hotel doesn't have a valid reason for removing you, it may be in breach of contract.
- Refund: Request a refund for unused nights and recover any additional costs you may incur by moving to another hotel.
- Hotel's justification : Obtain a written explanation for the eviction. If the hotel has a legitimate concern (e.g., disturbance to other guests), you should investigate this and respond appropriately.
- Consumer protection: Contact consumer protection organizations that can help you enforce your rights.
- Legal action : If no agreement can be reached and you believe your rights have been violated, you may want to consider taking legal action, including hiring an attorney.
- Documentation : Collect all relevant documentation, including booking confirmation, communication logs, invoices, and possibly photos or videos of the situation.
- Contact the booking platform : If you booked through a third-party platform, inform them of the situation. They may be able to mediate or assist you with a refund.
