Sam Altman: OpenAI boss warns against letting AI dictate everything

Open AI CEO Sam Altman
More and more people are turning to ChatGPT for advice on various life situations. This is good for the developer company OpenAI's business – but it also worries CEO Sam Altman.
Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT developer OpenAI, is concerned that people could completely live their lives based on recommendations from AI software. "It seems to me that something important is being lost, even if the advice were always really good," the tech entrepreneur told CNBC. However, he added that artificial intelligence isn't yet at the stage where it can provide truly good recommendations.
Altman told CNBC that OpenAI could generate profits faster than originally expected if it curbed spending. However, in his view, the right thing to do is continue investing in computing power and grow. The company, together with partners, plans to invest several hundred billion dollars in data centers for artificial intelligence.
