This was followed by "Boys Don't Cry" (1999) and "The Last Days of Disco" (1998). She also starred in the 1993 music video for Sonic Youth's song "Sugar Kane," alongside designer Marc Jacobs. In a career spanning over three decades, Sevigny has primarily appeared in indie films, but was nominated for an Emmy this year for her role as Kitty Menendez in "Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story." The seemingly unflattering term "old rag" is merely a metaphor to emphasize that Sevigny is the one wearing the dress—not the other way around, dominated by the look.
