“Guide Michelin”: More star restaurants in Germany than ever before

In 2025, 80 restaurants (14 new) will be honored—three more than in the previous year. The trend toward plant-based cuisine continues this year, and regionality and seasonality continue to play a vital role in product selection, said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the Michelin Guide. "80 Green Stars are impressive proof of this."
33 kitchens had to lose one or more stars because they closed, had a new concept, or the quality had deteriorated. In Germany , around two dozen testers are working anonymously. The awarding of the coveted stars is based on a uniform rating system – regardless of the country.
