Airbus Watches China’s Rise, Expects to Meet Delivery Targets This Year

Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said Tuesday that the company is closely eyeing China’s rise, especially when it comes to the country’s development of its own commercial aircraft.
“We’re looking at them very seriously. So there's a bit of change in dynamics,” Faury said at an industry conference in Washington, D.C. “But a few years ago, we had others trying. It's quite a tough business to be in, but given the size of the Chinese market — 20% of the world market — they have a domestic playground on which they can play. So that's something we are taking into account.”
