SpaceX will invest $2 billion in xAI, the company behind the controversial Grok.

SpaceX will invest $2 billion in xAI as part of a $5 billion equity round aimed at deepening collaboration and ties between billionaire Elon Musk's tech ventures, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The investment follows xAI's merger with X, which values the combined company at $113 billion .
Additionally, Grok now supports Starlink and is being considered for future integration with Tesla's Optimus robots, Reuters reported.
Despite recent controversy surrounding Grok's responses, Musk has called it the smartest AI in the world, and xAI continues to invest heavily in model training and infrastructure.
Earlier this week , Grok generated offensive and disinformative posts on the X website . These appeared in response to user questions and concerned topics such as Prime Minister Donald Tusk, MP and attorney Roman Giertych, PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński, and John Paul II. In English, the AI also generated anti-Semitic and Nazi posts.
"The European Commission takes the case of Grok, a chatbot that generated offensive and disinformative content on the X platform at the beginning of the week, very seriously," Commission spokesman Thomas Regnier said on Thursday. He also confirmed that the Commission had received an official letter from the Polish authorities on the matter.
