Newag to Robotize Factory. Will Use Special Relief

Newag will invest 73 million in the Nowy Sącz plant as part of the Polish Investment Zone program. The project, which has been divided into two stages, includes the expansion of the existing plant and increased production capacity.
The first decision to support Newag under the Polish Investment Zone program concerns the project of expansion and reorganization of the existing production plant in Nowy Sącz.
Newag wants to expand, robotize and increase the capacity of the plant in Nowy SączAs part of it, the company will purchase modern machines and equipment intended for the production of components for the railway industry . Modernization and construction works are also planned. The total value of eligible costs of this investment amounts to over PLN 29 million.
The second decision within the Polish Investment Zone covers a project focused on increasing production capacity and implementing advanced robotization, especially in the area of welding .
Among other things, robotic laser welding stations will be purchased, which are to improve quality, speed up processes and reduce environmental impact. The eligible costs of this investment will amount to over PLN 44 million.
Newag once again benefits from cooperation with the Krakow Technology Park- We are proud of Newag's investment, to which we could contribute. It has already used the tax relief three times, the first time in 2023 - said Krystian Jarubas, vice-president of the board of the Krakow Technology Park.
Newag is a company whose origins date back to 1876. It specializes in designing, manufacturing and modernizing rolling stock. The company's offer includes electric and diesel multiple units, shunting and line locomotives, metro vehicles and trams.
The company, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, employs approximately 1.5 thousand people and cooperates with an extensive network of suppliers.
The Polish Investment Zone (PSI) is a support instrument for entrepreneurs implementing new investments . The key benefit is income tax relief, which allows companies to invest funds in technological development, process modernization, or creating new jobs.
