Was This the Absolute Best Vanity Fair Could’ve Done with Pedro Pascal as Cover Star?

Back in April, it was announced that Radhika Jones was to step down as editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair. Jones has held the position after succeeding the long-serving Graydon Carter in 2017. Names like Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Millie Bobby Brown have graced the Condé Nast-owned publication throughout 2025. Jones’ latest cover is here, and up next on the magazine cover of Vanity Fair is Pedro Pascal. The Chilean-American actor takes to the July/August 2025 edition via the lens of Sølve Sundsbø. The Norwegian photographer captured Pedro crowd surfing in the dynamic cover shot, with Pascal dressed by cover shoot stylist Beat Bolliger in a shirt and suit pants from Gucci, and a white tank from Calvin Klein.

“Did we need to faux-sweat-soaked shirt? I like Pedro Pascal. I think he looks good. Yet I don’t think this cover captures his appeal whatsoever,” noted KoV.
“The photoshopping on his face is crazy!” exclaimed Kite.
Mepps commented: “The cover is annoying. They should have gone with the superb black and white close-up from the editorial,” they called out.
“You get Pedro Pascal as a subject, and you do this? Retire!” declared an unamused 90sfan.
“Sølve Sundsbø can do much better than this. I am not accepting this as a true attempt, knowing what he’s capable of,” chimed in jeremydante.
“I do not understand this man,” shared an uninterested Simera.
EDEN21 shared the same sentiments, commenting: “Don’t get this guys appeal AT ALL!”
