Trigger Point fans make same demand during explosive scenes: 'Oh dear'

ITV fans who tuned into the latest episode of Trigger Point all made the same demand over character Danny. During the third episode, Lana (Vicky McClure) and the rest of her team attempt to track down a dangerous bomber obsessed with revenge, whose campaign intensifies, putting more people in serious danger. The Met’s counter terrorism team doesn't know the bomber's identity, but Lana and Danny get into a scary encounter as they get close to finding out. Prior to a nail-biting car chase scene, Danny (Eric Shango) was discussing his personal life outside of work. This prompted multiple people to express the same sentiment online as the tense scenes unfolded.
One person typed: "Never mention you've got plans for the future mid-way through a series #triggerpoint." A second also chimed in: "Danny’s making too many plans which probably means he’s gonna end up dead."
A third also echoed on X: "Danny better not die. #triggerpoint." A fourth said: "DANNY YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DIE THAT IS A F***ING ORDER! #TriggerPoint." A fifth said simply: " Oh dear," with a shocked face emoji.
Later on in the episode, Lana, Danny and Rich (Mark Rowley) are called in to help defuse a major bomb threat as three people were taken hostage. The victims all had masks on, which were depriving them slowly of oxygen, and the team needed to act fast.
They were also sitting on scales that could detonate a bomb if the person moved. The team managed to get two of the hostages to safety after cutting the wires, but Rich was suffering from PTSD. In a tense moment, he replaced one of the hostages to sit on the bomb, and then, when everything was believed to be over, he cut a wire, and an explosion went off. The screen cuts to black and the fate of Rich remains unknown.
After two seasons of Trigger Point, where major characters have been killed off, the series now consists of a mixture of old faces and a number of newbies, such as Jason Flemyng as Steven Wyles.
The premise of season three so far has seen Lana and her team "investigate a bomb threat that soon reveals itself to be the start of a sinister vendetta".
The thrilling series is directed by Jamie Donoghue (A Discovery of Witches, Doctor Who) and is executive produced by Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio.
Trigger Point returns next weekend on ITV and ITVX.
