Outlander: Blood of My Blood fans 'scream' as new look at prequel spin-off released

Outlander enthusiasts have been treated to an exhilarating preview of the much-anticipated prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
This Monday (7th July), the Hollywood Reporter exclusively unveiled a fresh batch of images showcasing the prequel's primary cast members.
The newly released photos offer fans their best glimpse yet at key supporting characters who will appear alongside the series' protagonists, Harriet Slater, Jamie Roy, Hermione Corfield, and Jeremy Irvine.
Featured among the new faces are Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan, and Tony Curran as Lord Lovat, the grandfather of Jamie Fraser (portrayed by Sam Heughan).
Set in 18th Century Scotland, the forthcoming 10-part historical drama on Starz will follow Slater and Roy as they embody Jamie's parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, reports the Scottish Daily Express.
In a parallel narrative set amidst the chaos of the First World War, Corfield and Irvine take on the roles of Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp, the progenitors of the time-travelling medic Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe).
Fans, brimming with excitement for the groundbreaking new series, swarmed the comments section of the latest Instagram post to voice their enthusiasm for the casting choices.
"Excuse me while I go scream!" declared one thrilled admirer.
Another eagerly responded: "Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to watch the blood of my blood!"
A further fan remarked: "Everything seems to indicate that it's going to be a great series. Best of luck."
Meanwhile, another devoted viewer declared: "Oh I cannot wait. And I can wait for outlander season 8 because once it comes, then that really is the end."
The official synopsis for the forthcoming prequel reveals: "The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie's parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire's parents in WWI England."
Enthusiasts need only wait precisely one month longer, as Blood of My Blood's debut episode launches on Friday, 8th August.
Fortunately, this initial 10-episode run won't mark the conclusion for Brian, Harriet, Julia and Henry, as the spin-off has secured renewal for a second series.
Additionally, there's the eighth and concluding series of the original Outlander to anticipate, which will formally conclude Claire and Jamie's time-travelling saga.
Nevertheless, novelist Diana Gabaldon continues crafting the 10th and purportedly final book in her original collection, A Blessing for a Warrior Going Out, guaranteeing abundant Outlander material for years ahead.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres Friday, 8th August on Starz. Outlander is available to stream on MGM+ via Prime Video.
