Fitting for the season, orange blush gave models a sunkissed look on the runway. For Kim Shui, makeup artist Romero Jennings used MAC’s Pinch of Marrakesh, an orange brown. It’s the perfect subtle take on the trend for those who aren’t ready to commit to brighter shades. At Michael Kors, longtime makeup artist Dick Page brought the “fresh, outdoorsy” vibe with a warm tone and the lower placement nodded to the inspiration from Sharon Tate and Jane Birkin.
Gray LipsLighter lips have been having a moment lately, with everything from baby pink to mocha mousse becoming new go-to shades. But it seems like we’re going to be upping the ante by going all out with gray lips. The unconventional lip color choice landed on the runways of Kim Shui, Lapointe, and Collina Strada.
Coordinated ColorsTo make a color pop, a small wash of the same color around the eyes will do the trick. This simple but effective hack was used on the runways of Collina Strada, House of Aama, and Allina Liu.
Three-Tiered LayersBlunt layers are here to stay! While longer layers ruled the first part of the year, it seems shorter cuts could have a moment. They certainly did at NYFW on the runways of Wiederhoeft and Area.
Chrome NailsTaking things up a notch from “glazed donut” manicures, chrome nails are becoming more of a statement look this fall. Leaning into metallics, Grace Ling went for a long stiletto covered in charcoal gray with chrome all over. Lapointe enlisted the help of celebrity nail artist Naomi Yasuda, who designed metallic diagonal french tips with chrome finishes, to make the manicures pop.
