Lauren Sánchez Bezos on the Digital Cover of Vogue Feels Like a New Low…

You might not need reminding that Anna Wintour is stepping down as editor-in-chief of American Vogue (after a 37-year tenure), and Wintour’s final issues are officially upon us. As Wintour begins to close out her tenure (while remaining as Vogue global editorial director), Lauren Sánchez Bezos makes a not-so-surprising appearance on the cover of the American fashion bible. The newlywed, who married American billionaire businessman Jeff Bezos in Venice on June 27, appears before the lens of photographer Tierney Gearon and is styled by Tabitha Simmons. The shoot took place on the grounds of an 18th-century brick villa just outside Milan on June 9. In the joyous cover image, Lauren poses in her Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress, inspired by the number Sophia Loren wore in the 1958 film “Houseboat.”

“Perfect callback to Melania [Trump]’s wedding cover: two tacky, absolutely useless people that no one cares about being forced upon us by their detestable sugar daddy’s money. What a way to go out Anna…” noted Marc10.

“I didn’t expect Bezos to be so cheap. Couldn’t he buy her a normal cover?” asked Avonlea.

“Everything I’ve seen of this wedding (not by choice!) has me shocked at how cheap it all looks,” critiqued an unimpressed chiccestlavie.

“If you’re going to do it, at least do it right. This feels so pedestrian and flat – even for a digital cover offering. There’s no production value, no substance, no style, no nothing. The whole entire thing feels more suited to Hello! as opposed to Vogue,” voiced vogue28.
