His new song, “Mother in You,” is about his son, Jack Blues Bieber. On the first verse, he sings about how becoming a dad has transformed him: “You opened your eyes / That was when I knew / Ooh, it would change me / There’s a beautiful world that’s waiting for you.”
Throughout the chorus, he reflects on seeing his wife, Hailey, through his son. The second verse continues: “My smile, her grace / Both of our hearts / Oh, child, everyday / You’re the best part.”
Jack recently celebrated his first birthday in August. To mark the occasion, Hailey posted photos of herself with Jack on Instagram, writing: “1 year of you my beautiful boy. Happy 1st Birthday Jack Blues, you are joy personified🩵.”
“Mother in You” is seemingly the first time that Justin has explicitly referenced Jack in his music. Hailey, meanwhile, has opened up about motherhood before. In her Vogue cover story, she said of their child, “He’s my priority. He is the most important thing to me. [Motherhood has] been my biggest teacher so far, the biggest teacher in my relationship. You see your partner so differently. I think you empathize with your parents a lot more. There’s so much perspective that comes with it.”
