TV farmer and presenter Jeremy Clarkson launched a lavish Hawkstone VIP Summer Party in the grounds of his Burford pub to celebrate his new advert for his Hawkstone cider and lager. There was live music from veteran "Scrumpy and Western" band The Wurzels, with tracks like 'I'm A Cider Drinker' and 'Combine Harvester' getting the crowd going.

However, a few party-goers were puzzled by the food menu, insisting Jeremy had "suddenly gone woke". Despite the Clarkson's Farm star previously mocking vegetarians and "vegetable-induced boredom", there was a veggie menu available for guests - and even gluten-free crisps, made with local potatoes direct from Diddly Squat. Out of three possible pizzas at the party, there was only one meat option, with one diner commenting that the menu didn't look "very Jeremy".

The options were a "classic" tomato, mozzarella and basil pizza, a veggie one with added ingredients including goat's cheese, red onion, rocket and hot honey, and finally "the meaty one", which contained sausage and thyme.

There was also a "veggie burger" on offer, featuring roasted beetroot, goat's cheese, tomato chutney and marinated courgette.

While there were also lamb shawarma kebabs and burgers with dry-aged beef being served up, punters were baffled by the amount of meat-free options.

Jeremy had continued to eat a meat-based diet after undergoing emergency heart surgery last year, but says that in a bid to get healthy, he's cut back on the rich sauces he used to include with his meal.

The feast at The Farmer's Dog was a celebration of everyone who'd been "backing British farming" by buying, selling and of course drinking Hawkstone cider and beer.

An exclusive new cider variety was debuted at the party for guests to try out, but Kaleb couldn't be there as he was tackling what Jeremy warned might be the "worst harvest" on record.

His new combine harvester broke down within 15 minutes, while rain suddenly poured down for the first time in four months, to his surprise.

In his absence, Jeremy screened a "banned" Hawkstone ad, which saw himself, Kaleb and a group of farmers turned choir singers repeatedly swearing as they praised the "delicious" beer - and it was a hit with crowds.
