Everything Anne Hathaway Has Worn on Set of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' So Far
Nearly 20 years ago, Anne Hathaway's character Andy Sachs chucked her Sidekick phone into a fountain in Paris and walked away from her formidable fashion editor boss, Miranda Priestly, effectively ending her chapter at Runway magazine (seemingly) for life. But she couldn't stay away from the Elias Clarke skyscraper or those Chanel boots for long, because Hathaway (and Andy Sachs) is back for The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Production for the second film began in New York City this month, as fans saw photos and videos surface of the original 2006 cast filming, including Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci. Newcomers are aplenty in the sequel, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, and Caleb Hearon.
The last time we saw Andy Sachs, she was starting as a budding journalist at the New York Mirror, effectively leaving the scary world of fashion magazines behind… or so we thought? The plot reportedly follows Miranda Priestly as she navigates the new world of publishing in the digital age, seeking funding from her former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), who now works as an executive at an unnamed luxury group. Where Andy Sachs fits into all of this isn't entirely clear.
Regardless of where the story of our favorite sharp-witted characters takes us, one thing is clear: the fashion is back. The original film's styling was done by powerhouse Patricia Field — who also famously worked on Sex and the City and Emily in Paris. We're not sure if Field returned for the sequel, but whoever is behind the fashion thus far is giving it their all.
Anne Hathaway has been spotted all around New York City wearing bright patterns, mutable tones, blazers, a jumpsuit, and more. The outfits are expensive and designer, of course, giving the beloved Andy Sachs an updated take on her style.
