Doechii Previews 2025 Met Gala Look by Honoring André Leon Talley

Doechii seems to be teasing her debut appearance at the 2025 Met Gala by paying homage to fashion legend André Leon Talley.

The Grammy-winning rapper has had a banner year, becoming a household name with her chart-topping hits, awe-inspiring performances, and her signature face tape. With every star's rise to the top comes their first Met Gala appearance. And while the guest list for the biggest night in fashion is mostly kept under wraps, Doechii has been confirmed to be walking the famous steps into the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 5.

While the musician has previously been a notable Thom Browne muse, she's made her designer rounds during her first Paris Fashion Week this past March. Doechii proved that she is versatile in all things style, attending shows including Le Grand Dîner du Louvre, Acne Studios, Chloe, and more.

Ahead of Monday, Doechii shared a photo on Instagram that directly references an iconic photo of the late Talley — former editor-at-large of Vogue, author, and style expert. In the picture, Doechii is shown walking out of a building carrying Louis Vuitton luggage, a trunk, and a tennis racket cover. She's also wearing a red and white tracksuit and draped around her neck is a Louis Vuitton towel. Doechii is laughing with her mouth open and swinging the trunk gleefully, much like the reference. She captioned the photo, “ready?”

Doechii also shared the picture of André Leon Talley on her Instagram Stories, which shows him also swinging around a Louis Vuitton trunk, with a bag on his shoulder and the same Louis Vuitton tennis racket cover. A smiling Talley has a slightly different scarf on, but Doechii's photo is nearly identical.
