Anok Yai Oozes a ‘Powerful’ Presence on the ‘Sublime’ Cover of Vogue France

Anok Yai Oozes a ‘Powerful’ Presence on the ‘Sublime’ Cover of Vogue France

Claire Thomson-Jonville continues to make big strides as head of editorial content at Vogue France. Since picking up from where Eugénie Trochu left off, Thomson-Jonville has seemingly been on a mission to bring back the spark the French edition of Vogue lost (subsequent to the departure of Emmanuelle Alt). Models like Loli Bahia, Natasha Poly, Vittoria Ceretti, Joan Smalls, and Gisele Bündchen have graced the cover of the French fashion bible lately. Up next on the cover of Vogue France is Anok Yai. The magazine made good use of its venture to St. Barts for the occasion, and enlisted Mario Sorrenti as cover shoot photographer once again. In the commanding cover shot, the American beauty (who was just on the cover of the October 2024 issue) strikes a pose against a vivid blue sky, dressed by stylist Alastair McKimm in a look from Anthony Vaccarello’s Fall 2025 Saint Laurent collection.

“Very nice. Reminds me of the [February 2011] cover with Lara Stone,” shared concagon upon first look.

“A haughty and powerful presence,” voiced Gonzalo.

Miyawaki shared the same sentiments, echoing: “This is Sorrenti’s best work in the past few months, I love it. Anok’s presence also makes it work!”

“J’adore! Anok Yai delivers every time and she deserves more jobs!” heralded cul8tr.

Also very much a fan was BalkaniStaCouture. “I love Sorrenti. Back on good old Vogue Paris route. I love what Claire is doing – from the choice of models and covers. It’s all good,” they praised.

“It’s definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, got some of that old-school Vogue Paris allure. All of the components are present and accounted for – and I’m kinda massively here for it. Anok Yai looks superb here, I just love how bold, graphic, and attention-grabbing the cover is. Way to go, Claire!” vogue28 championed.

Forum member lanvinray described the cover as “sublime” and we couldn’t possibly disagree.
