Inside Miley Cyrus’s Relationship With Maxx Morando: ‘They Make a Lot of Sense’

Miley Cyrus isn’t the type to say too much about her relationship with Maxx Morando, whom she began dating in 2021. But a source assured Us Weekly that she and her boyfriend are thriving in private.

“Everyone close to Miley says Maxx brings out the best in her,” the insider said. “They make a lot of sense as a couple.” Morando is a drummer for Liily but has worked with Cyrus on her upcoming album, Something Beautiful. He even appeared playing the drums in the music video for its single “End of the World.”

“They work very well as a team,” the source shared. “Maxx shares the same passion for music, and he’s one of Miley’s biggest cheerleaders.”

Cyrus is doing well going into this next chapter of her career. “Miley’s in her healing era,” the insider explained. “She’s in a really good place after doing a lot of introspective work on herself and figuring out who she is.”

In November, Cyrus spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about Morando. “He’s very similar to me,” she said. “We just don’t take life too seriously.”

She discussed making music with him, saying, “I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much.”

The singer also touched on their six-year age gap, noting that they grew up with different technology. (Morando was born in 1998, while Cyrus is a 1992 baby.)

“He looks at life really differently than I do,” she said. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters. … Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’ And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.’”
