Kastamonu, Sinop, and Çankırı to Make a Breakthrough in Tourism with the TR82 Region Tourism Master Plan

Kastamonu, Sinop, and Çankırı to Make a Breakthrough in Tourism with the TR82 Region Tourism Master Plan

The TR82 Region, encompassing Kastamonu, Sinop, and Çankırı, is entering a new era in tourism with the Tourism Master Plan, which has been in development for over a decade. The project, funded by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and KUZKA, aims to increase tourism revenue by promoting the region.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Oruç Baba İnan announced that regional inequality will be addressed through local development initiatives and that investors will be able to benefit from incentives even for transported machinery. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan stated that Türkiye has risen to fourth place in global tourism and emphasized the $100 billion tourism revenue target.

Kastamonu Governor Meftun Dallı stated that the region has tourism potential in all seasons and invited investors to invest, especially in accommodation facilities.

KUZKA Secretary General Dr. Serkan Genç stated that the plan is a strategic synthesis of the work undertaken to date and will transform the TR82 region into a destination that not only promotes but also guides the way. The plan has developed 48 priority projects; some of these are applicable in the short term, while others will form the basis of medium- and long-term transformation strategies.

As a result, the plan aims to make the TR82 Region a preferred sustainable tourism destination throughout the year and to make a strong contribution to the socio-economic development of the region.
