This time she created a scandal by imitating Taylor Swift and Anne Hathaway

AI avatars on meta platforms have recently raised security and legal concerns. Some of the company's AI chatbots impersonated celebrities and even a child actor, flirting with users and producing raunchy content, according to a Reuters investigation.
Bots shared sexually explicit images
Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, and Selena Gomez were exposed to users without permission by AI bots. These bots insisted they were real celebrities and, in some cases, shared sexually explicit images. Reuters also revealed that 16-year-old actor Walker Scobell was realistically portrayed on the beach by AI bots.
Meta acknowledges that such content should not have been created. "Bugs in the app allowed intimate images of celebrities to be exposed," spokesperson Andy Stone said. Meanwhile, shortly before the Reuters report, the company removed about a dozen bots.
Stanford Law Professor Mark Lemley noted that California's right of publicity laws prohibit the unauthorized use of someone's likeness for commercial gain. However, there are exceptions for new creative works in some cases. AG-AFTRA warned that bots impersonating real celebrities risk dangerously manipulating user behavior.
Artificial intelligence created Taylor Swift and Lewis Hamilton bots
Reuters found that a product leader in Meta's generative AI division created bots featuring Taylor Swift and British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton. Other bots included dominatrix characters and simulations that put users in violent or sexual scenarios. These bots have reached a wide audience and have received more than 10 million interactions.
He died while on his way to meet a Meta chatbot
A 76-year-old man in New Jersey reportedly died while on his way to meet the Meta chatbot. The bot resembled the AI personality previously created with Kendall Jenner.
Meta stated that romantic or sensual conversations with children were inadvertent and that they would review the guidelines. However, the controversy has once again raised the issue of preventing the misuse of AI and protecting celebrity likenesses. SAG-AFTRA is pushing for federal legislation to protect artists' voices, images, and personalities.
