The deadline for free repairs for faulty iPhones has expired.
Technology company Apple has announced that its free repair programs, which it previously ran for some manufacturing-related malfunctions, have ended due to the expiration of their coverage period.
The decision reportedly directly affects iPhone 12/12 Pro model users and 13-inch MacBook Pro owners; from now on, free repairs will no longer be available for the specified faults on these devices; users will have to cover the repair costs themselves.
PROGRAMS ANNOUNCEDiPhone 12/12 Pro Earpiece (audio) issue: Apple previously implemented a three-year repair program due to a malfunction in the earpiece module that caused audio loss during calls on some iPhone 12 series devices. This program expired three years after the original models went on sale.
13-inch MacBook Pro “Flexgate” screen issue: The company has ended its five-year support for the “Flexgate” issue, which was seen on 2016 model 13-inch MacBook Pros and caused problems with the screen bottom lighting or the screen going completely black, caused by the flex cable.
IT IS NOW PAIDWith the end of the programs, users experiencing these malfunctions will now have to seek paid repair services from authorized service centers.
