Samsung has a chance for a strong rebound thanks to the development of artificial intelligence

According to LSEG SmartEstimate, compiled by 31 analysts, the world's largest memory chip maker is expected to post an operating profit of 10.1 trillion won ($7.11 billion) for the July-September period. This would be a 10% increase compared to a year earlier, Reuters reports.
Analysts attributed this recovery mainly to better pricing for conventional memory chips, which would offset weaker sales volumes for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips , as Samsung has not yet supplied them to Nvidia.
HBM chips, crucial for the development of artificial intelligence, are designed to reduce energy consumption and process large data sets, Reuters explains.
Analysts say demand for memory chips, especially from hyperscalers and AI-related investments, has increased the load on standard servers, which has translated into higher prices for conventional memory chips.
Prices of some DRAM chips, commonly used in servers, smartphones and PCs, rose by 171.8 percent in the third quarter compared to a year earlier, Reuters reports.
Although Samsung's conventional memory business performed well, analysts said delays in deliveries of its latest chips to Nvidia negatively impacted the company's profits and share price.
