Instagram is no longer just for square photos

Instagram , which has undergone a major change over time with the addition of new features, is now giving up its most well-known feature. The application, which supported a single photo size for years, is no longer as strict as it used to be in this regard. Instagram boss Adam Mosseri announced that 3:4 photos can also be uploaded to the application.
Normally, when we upload a photo to Instagram, we would have to cut off the top and bottom according to the app's ratios. Now, when you upload a photo in 3:4 ratio, which is the standard shooting mode of many phone models, you won't have to do this cropping process. "It will now look exactly as you took it," Adam Mosseri explained on his Threads account.
An image from Instagram’s feed shows what a difference this change makes. We’ll still be able to post images with a 4:5 aspect ratio, but the edges won’t be cropped even if the photo we upload is 3:4. According to the information provided, 3:4 photos are also supported in single photo uploads and carousel photos.
On the other hand, there is no restriction for those who like the standard aspect ratio. This means that you can continue to share photos with a square or 4:5 aspect ratio if you wish.
The change comes after Instagram started using rectangles instead of squares in profile grids in January. “Right now, the majority of photos and videos are uploaded vertically,” Mosseri said at the time.
