Advertising period on WhatsApp

In the beta version 2.25.21.11 released for Android , advertising content has begun appearing in the "Updates" tab . Two new ad formats are being tested:
Status Ads: Sponsored ads will be displayed between users' viewed status posts . Ads can be skipped quickly, and users can block advertisers if they wish .
Promoted Channels: Brands and content creators can use paid promotions to highlight their own channels . These channels will be listed as "sponsored" in the Explore section.
PERSONAL MESSAGES WILL NOT BE TOUCHEDWhatsApp has issued several reassurances to address user privacy concerns . It emphasized that ads will only appear in the "Updates" tab , and that private chats, group conversations , searches, and communities will not be affected. These areas will continue to be protected with end-to-end encryption.
ADVERTISING CONTROL WILL BE LEFT TO USERSThe new system also offers control over advertisements .
With the new feature called “Activity Report,” users can:
-They will be able to list the advertisements they have seen ,
-Can block unwanted ads,
-He can remove these obstacles if he wishes,
-Can download ad history as a ZIP file.
TARGETING WILL BE DONE WITH LIMITED DATAWhatsApp also announced the criteria for displaying ads to users . Accordingly :
-Location information (country/ city),
-The language selected in the application ,
-Followed channels and interaction history will be used.
-It was clearly stated that personal message content will not be used for ad targeting in any way.
TESTING PROCESS CONTINUESThese ad features are currently being tested only by a limited number of beta users. WhatsApp plans to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments before rolling them out to all users .
