The world-famous actor passed away at the age of 83. The actor's family confirmed the news of his death .

FAMILY ANNOUNCED

"John will be remembered for his great love and compassion for his family, his work, theatre, television, cinema, literature and of course his beloved horses," the family's obituary read.

When The Facts of Life first aired, the famous actor , who appeared as Lawlor principal Steven Bradley , played the role in the series for 13 episodes. Born on June 5, 1941 in Troy, New York, he leaves behind five children, two brothers, three grandchildren, a nephew and two nephews.
