The horrific incident took place at around 23:00 on January 31, 2024, in an apartment building in TOKİ Residences on 6002nd street in Uzundere Neighborhood, Karabağlar district. Content producer Büşra Karademir, who attracted attention with her posts on social media, called 112 and asked for help because her husband Cenk Karademir was knocking on the door.
After dropping Büşra Karademir, a mother of four, off in her squad car after giving her statement, police officer Süleyman Ay entered the young woman's house and harassed her. The young woman resisted the police officer who cornered her and tried to kiss her, but the police officer shot her in the stomach with his own service weapon. The injured police officer was discharged after treatment. Police officer Süleyman Ay, who was suspended after the incident, was sentenced to 14 to 36.5 years in prison for the crimes of "aggravated violation of the inviolability of the home", "deprivation of liberty for sexual purposes by using force, threat, and deception", and "attempted aggravated sexual assault".
A lawsuit was filed against Büşra Karademir for the crimes of 'attempting premeditated murder' and 'purchasing, carrying or possessing unlicensed firearms and bullets', with a prison sentence of 10 to 18 years requested. The prosecutor announced his opinion at the last hearing at the İzmir 1st High Criminal Court.
