Istanbul's inflation has been announced!

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced Istanbul's June inflation data. According to the data announced by the ITO, the ITO Istanbul Consumer Price Index, which is an indicator of retail price movements in the city, increased by 1.77 percent in June compared to the previous month, while the Wholesale Price Index, which reflects wholesale price movements, increased by 1.93 percent.

While the increase in retail prices was 44.38 percent in June compared to the same period last year, wholesale prices increased by 37.36 percent in the same period.

THE HIGHEST INCREASE WAS IN HOUSING AND HOUSEHOLD GOODS

The rate of increase in the Istanbul Consumer Price Index was 2.70 percent in housing, 2.57 percent in household goods, 1.98 percent in restaurants and hotels expenditure group, 1.93 percent in food and non-alcoholic beverage expenditure group, 1.67 percent in transportation, 1.45 percent in education, 0.97 percent in various goods and services, 0.77 percent in health expenditure, 0.71 percent in communication, 0.27 percent in clothing and footwear, and 0.21 percent in alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

The only expenditure group to experience a decrease was the entertainment and culture group, with a decrease of 0.07 percent.

In determining the price index in Istanbul in June, price changes in some products in the housing expenditures group and in some public services, household goods expenditures, restaurant and hotel expenditures, transportation expenditures and various goods and services expenditure groups, price changes in some products and services due to market conditions, and price changes in the food expenditures group due to seasonal and market conditions were effective.

WHOLESALE PRICES

In June, monthly increases in wholesale prices were observed in the construction materials group by 6.92 percent, in the minerals group by 3.06 percent, in the fuel and energy materials group by 2.22 percent, in the foodstuffs group by 1.71 percent, in the unprocessed materials group by 1.23 percent, in the chemicals group by 1.00 percent, while there was no change in the textiles group.

In June, on an annual basis, price increases by groups were 77.22 percent in construction materials, 63.20 percent in textiles, 35.37 percent in chemicals, 34.86 percent in foodstuffs, 30.34 percent in unprocessed materials, 27.19 percent in fuel and energy, and 20.45 percent in minerals.
