A record-breaking man-eating shark was discovered off the coast of Nantucket Island in the United States of America (USA) by specialists from the OCEARCH organization. According to scientists, it is a male named Contender, MassLive reports.
The individual is reported to be 4.2 meters long and weigh around 750 kilograms.
Researchers say it is the largest shark ever recorded in research. The predator was discovered near the Florida-Georgia border and has since been tracked for study.
Staff plan to continue monitoring the male, describing him as "a full-fledged ocean warrior."
Earlier it was reported that a huge shark was spotted near the Tokarevsky lighthouse in Vladivostok. Local residents saw and filmed a large fin near the tourist spot, where thousands of tourists come every day.
