For the first time in its 30-year history, the Belarusian national airline Belavia received its first wide-body aircraft capable of long-distance flights. This was reported by the Belavia press service.
The Belavia fleet has been expanded with wide-body Airbus A330-200 aircraft. They can cover distances of up to 12,000 km and simultaneously accommodate 300-400 passengers. Until now, Belavia had only short-haul aircraft.
"What does this mean for the airline? The ability to operate long-haul flights and open new routes. And, of course, we have prepared a lot: we have studied hard (pilots, technicians, flight attendants), honed our skills in practice and set up new maintenance processes," the press service of the flagship airline of Belarus said.
At the same time, the airline has not yet specified the routes to which the new Belavia planes will fly. Perhaps they will be used when opening direct flights to Southeast Asian countries, aviation experts suggested.
Earlier it became known that Israel wants to increase the number of flights with Russia .
