Catarina Martins received appeals to withdraw from the race for Seguro.

Presidential candidate Catarina Martins says she has received several appeals to withdraw her candidacy on behalf of António José Seguro , but denies that the candidate supported by the Socialist Party has contacted her directly.
The appeals that the candidate supported by the Left Bloc received also reached her in writing, she revealed this Saturday in an interview with CNN Portugal. "There were newspaper articles about it," she added.
In statements to Rádio Observador, Vasco Lourenço, a captain from the April Revolution, called for a "convergence on the left" around the former leader of the Socialist Party .
Regarding Seguro, Catarina Martins recalled the recent statements of the former Secretary-General of the Socialist Party: "He is the candidate who says 'I can't say I'm left-wing, that's a little box'."
Presidential candidate António José Seguro stated this Saturday that he belongs to “a modern and moderate left ,” but stressed that he does not intend to go to Belém Palace to engage in partisan politics. Earlier, in an interview with Público , the candidate did not clearly answer when questioned about whether he was left-wing. “Why are they trying to pigeonhole me?” he asked.
When questioned about direct contact from Seguro, she denied that it had happened and positioned herself as one of the last "institutionalists in this country." "I often hear about people's private conversations on interview or commentary programs. But I haven't had any conversations, I can say that , but I also don't think politics should be done that way," she stated.
And she further confessed: "I don't see myself at all in this form of political reality show , I confess, I've always had this institutional stance, as a party leader as well."
