Nutritionist teaches recipe for healthy chicken nuggets

With the rush of everyday life, foods considered bad can appear in children's routine, which makes the children's menu less healthy. A good option is to replace industrialized versions with homemade and healthy ones.
Nutritionist Taynara Abreu teaches a recipe for healthy nuggets that can be frozen . “The idea is to keep it practical, but with more nutritional quality,” she explains.
Ingredients:
- 500g of raw chicken breast (chopped or ground);
- 1 small grated carrot (optional, but adds color and fiber);
- 1 crushed garlic clove;
- 1/2 small onion, chopped;
- 2 tablespoons of fine rolled oats or oat flour;
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil;
- Salt to taste (or a very small pinch for younger children);
- Natural seasonings to taste (oregano, parsley, turmeric).
For breading:
- 1 beaten egg;
- Oatmeal, cornmeal or golden flaxseed flour (you can mix with a little grated cheese if you like).
Preparation method:
- Grind everything (except the egg and breading flour) in a food processor or blender until a homogeneous mass is formed;
- Shape into nuggets (flat balls);
- Dip in beaten egg and then in flour chosen for coating;
- Place on a greased baking sheet or in the air fryer basket;
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200ºC for 20–25 minutes or in an air fryer at 180ºC for 15 minutes, turning halfway through.
To freeze:
- Freeze the raw, breaded nuggets, separated on a tray;
- Once firm, transfer to a bag or jar with a lid;
- They last up to 3 months frozen.
