It happened this Sunday (07) at the UBS Arena, in New York, in the United States, another edition of the MTV Video Music Awards , one of the most anticipated music awards of the year. This time, Anitta , who has already made so many iconic appearances , was left out of the event, which had Lady Gaga , Ariana Grande and Sabrina Carpenter as the most awarded artists of the night.
Nominated in no less than 12 categories, Mother Monster, who at the beginning of the year performed an amazing show in Rio de Janeiro , took home 4 astronauts, in the categories Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration [in partnership with Bruno Mars in "Die with a Smile"], Best Direction and Best Art Direction [both for "Abracadabra"].
Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande each won three awards. While Sabrina won Best Album, Best Pop Artist, and Best Visual Effects, Grande won Best Pop, Video of the Year, and Best Long Form Video.

Ricky Martin made VMA history. The Puerto Rican was the first artist to receive the "Latin Icon" award for his remarkable career in music.
With a career of huge successes and many breathtaking moments at the VMAs, Mariah Carey was the night's big honoree. The artist, a huge idol of Anitta , received the award for Best R&B for " Type Dangerous," as well as the coveted Video Vanguard Award.
