With an open heart, João Maneira made a video that he wanted to show his followers for a long time, but only now did he have the courage to share it.
The actor opened up to his Instagram followers, confessing that he has been going through challenging times and stating that "not everything is a bed of roses."
"I've wanted to make this video for a long time. I never did it because I was always embarrassed. Those who know me well, by heart, my friends, my family, the people closest to me, truly know who I am. You don't," he began by saying.
"That's what's been eating at my head. Even though social media is full of lies, it's up to us to tell the truth. I've reached the point where I don't care what the consequences of telling the truth are, I don't even want to think about it. I have respect for all of you; you've helped me through many phases of my life. [...] Unfortunately, nowadays it's necessary, and so I thank you for always being there, for helping me and sending messages of encouragement," he added.
"I don't expect anything from the video. I don't expect to recover, I don't expect to solve my problems, not at all. I just want each and every person who follows me to feel less alone in this huge world. They're not alone, no one is alone. People laugh in front of a camera and cry behind it, so... I wanted to show you my life over the last two years. And that not everything is a bed of roses. That's it," he finally said. Watch the video in the gallery.
The sharing was made at the end of last week, more precisely on August 1st, and immediately received several messages through the comments box of the publication in question.
"If you felt better after the video, great. That's all that matters... but I'm sure you don't have to explain anything to anyone," fellow actress Ângela Pinto responded. "Oh my dear, a kiss on your heart," commented Noua Wong. Sandra Silva also made a point of sending "a hug," while Débora Monteiro and Frederico Amaral left a heart-shaped emoji.
This week, João Maneira once again shared emotional messages through Instagram stories, like the video you can see below:
