Ilhéus: who are the women killed while walking their dog?

Authorities confirmed this weekend the deaths of three women in Ilhéus, in southern Bahia. The victims are Alexsandra Oliveira Suzart , 45, Maria Helena do Nascimento Bastos , 41, and her daughter, Mariana Bastos da Silva , 20.
Alexsandra and Maria Helena worked as teachers in the municipal school system, while Mariana was a student. They all lived in a condominium located approximately 200 meters from Praia dos Milionários, a tourist area of the city.
The three were last seen on Friday (15), when they went out together to walk a dog. Security camera footage recorded the group walking on the beach sand at around 5 pm (Brasília time).
On Saturday (16), the bodies were found in a vegetation area near the shore, in the Jardim Atlântico neighborhood. The dog was found alive, tied to a coconut tree next to the victims.
Circumstances of the crimeAccording to the Military Police, the three women bore stab wounds. The Civil Police are investigating the perpetrator and motive for the crime, but as of the last update, there was no information about suspects or possible robbery or sexual assault.
Images collected from security cameras will be analyzed to aid investigations.
Mourning in IlhéusThe Ilhéus City Hall released an official statement lamenting the deaths and highlighted the importance of the work of the two teachers for the municipality, stating that they "contributed significantly to the development of the city, leaving a legacy of service and commitment."
The Association of Professional Teachers of Ilhéus (APPI-APLB) declared three days of mourning and classified the case as "an act of violence that shocks and deeply saddens families and the entire school community."
"May the memory of these educators further inspire our fight for a just, safe and humane society," says the statement released by the organization.
