Diogo Cuoco, the youngest son of actor Francisco Cuoco , revealed in an interview with Fantástico this Sunday, the 22nd, the last moments of his father, who died on the 19th, in São Paulo, at the age of 91. The emotional testimony brought intimate memories of family life and details about the veteran actor's final moments in the hospital.

"Seeing that he was also well, that he was serene, that he was calm, knowing his desires, what he wanted, what he didn't want. I think that brings this peace to us. [...] I am at peace, because I think my father had a great life. He told a great story," said the son.

Diogo became emotional when he recalled his close relationship with his father, revealing that the actor was his best friend. Showing old photos, he highlighted that, even after his parents separated, when he was only four years old, he always had the artist's constant presence.

"We were with my father every weekend. And some weekdays too. So, we lived inside the station," recalled Diogo, who shares fond memories with his siblings Tatiana and Rodrigo.

The report revealed striking traits of the actor's personality: off-camera, he was known for his infectious humor, optimism and welcoming spirit. "He was vain. He didn't like seeing himself with gray hair. He dyed it. He only stopped dyeing it in 2020, during the pandemic," said his son about one of his father's characteristic habits.

Among the peculiarities, Francisco carried with him supermarket bags full of medicines, a detail that reflected his battle against heart failure diagnosed in 2021, a condition that progressively worsened.

In his final days, during his 19-day hospital stay, the actor partially watched Globo's Tribute, a special program in his honor. "He liked to participate in Globo's specials at the end of the year, because he got to see his colleagues again. When he couldn't go to the last one, he was upset," Diogo shared.

The farewell took place peacefully, with the presence of his daughter Tatiana, who flew from London to Brazil in time. The wake was attended by colleagues and family members, celebrating the legacy of one of the greatest protagonists of Brazilian television.
