Fame at the expense of an assault video? Katia Aveiro responds to the lyrics

K atia Aveiro was one of the public figures to comment on the video of a man assaulting a woman in Machico, Madeira , which went viral on social media. On her Instagram page, Cristiano Ronaldo's sister recalled her childhood, also marked by the scourge of domestic violence.
"Anyone who knows my family's history, especially my mother's, knows that we children witnessed domestic violence.
It used to be very common to see these types of situations. Men who drank and committed violence against women. I grew up amidst this violence," she highlighted on social media.
"This triggers some issues, especially for those who witnessed this type of violence at home. Fortunately, I've overcome this, and I believe my brothers have too," he added.
Hours later, the celebrity spoke out again on the matter, lamenting the comments made on the news that echoed her story. Many people accused her of trying to gain fame from the tragic video, accusations she couldn't ignore.

In a series of videos shared on Instagram Stories, Katia Aveiro made it clear why she often remains silent on issues that affect society, such as the video of the assault. "I often wish I could speak out, I often wish I could make videos, but maturity and my spiritual side have made me understand over the past few years that not everything is worth it, that it's not always worth talking about," she emphasizes.
Katia says that every time she speaks out, she has to deal with negative and malicious comments. "From then on, there's a flood of hurtful criticism that my children read and ask why people are so angry with their mother, why they're so angry with their grandmother, Aunt Elma, Uncle Ronaldo, and most of the time I don't even know how to answer..." she reflects.
"Actually, to be honest, I even know how to answer, but over time I've come to understand that dialogue at home is essential and that there are things I'll never be able to change," she adds.
In the view of CR7's sister, there's a serious problem in Portugal. "Information has become richer, but people have become poorer," she argues. "People spew hatred for nothing, just because they're frustrated, envious, empty, or just because," she emphasizes.
"I didn't do any harm to people, but they still get angry if Ronaldo helps, they get angry if we have money, if we travel, if we smile, if we take a stand, if we buy a bag, if we look nice, they get angry if we lose weight..." he enumerates.
However, he asks: "What is the answer to this?"
"The problem is with people, not me and my family. It's with people, with society. I'm worried that society is so sick," she confesses, noting that although she's used to these comments, she's only worried because she knows her children will eventually read them.
Thus, his goal in exposing these people on his account, which has more than a million followers, is to make them aware of the "hatred they exude" and to make them "feel ashamed."
Finally, Katia also says that she will never feel "diminished" by being Ronaldo's sister; on the contrary, she couldn't be more proud of her family. Even so, she emphasizes, she lives a life independent of the star, contrary to what many continue to believe.

Katia Aveiro spoke out about the video circulating on social media showing a woman being assaulted by her partner on Madeira Island. The businesswoman spoke about her own life, having witnessed similar incidents as a child, and called for justice to be served.
