Êta Mundo Melhor!: see news about the next soap opera on Rede Globo

The soap opera Êta Mundo Melhor!, which premieres at 6 pm (Brasília time) on Monday (June 30), promises to continue the universe created in Êta Mundo Bom! (2016), now with new challenges and characters. The story follows Candinho, played by Sergio Guizé, in a new phase of his life in the capital of São Paulo. Widowed and with an inheritance received from his mother, he finds himself faced with the mission of finding his missing son, wrapped in a plot of mystery, humor and emotion.

Actor Sergio Guizé highlighted the process of reclaiming the character. "I'm more prepared now, nine years later. Candinho is still alive inside me," he said, also revealing that he was inspired by his grandmother and the works of Mazzaropi and Chaplin. The relationship with Policarpo, the faithful donkey squire, is also back — this time, played by a donkey named Juliana, who, according to the actor, "enchants even behind the scenes."

Jeniffer Nascimento, who now stars as Dita, celebrated the character's growth. "She's gone from being a servant to pursuing her dream of becoming a radio singer," she explained. The actress classified this evolution as a historical reparation. Dita and Candinho will form a new couple in the plot, after the end of her relationship with Quincas, Miguel Rômulo's character. The chemistry between Jeniffer and Guizé was highlighted by both as essential to the success of the new plot.

Among the new characters, Margarida (Nívea Maria), the owner of a boarding house in São Paulo, and Asdrúbal (Luis Miranda), a womanizing professor and Candinho's advisor, stand out. Both emphasized the importance of representation and light humor to captivate the audience. "Brazil is also country, it recognizes itself in that essence," said Miranda.

The production also brings back characters, such as Manoela (Dhu Moraes), Cunegundes (Elizabeth Savala) and Quinzinho (Ary Fontoura), maintaining the rural and comical essence of the original plot. Actress Betty Gofman enters as Medeia, Cunegundes' new rival, while her sister Rosane Gofman revives Olímpia. Female and racial representation, in fact, is a recurring theme in the cast's speeches, reaffirming the updated proposal of the soap opera.

With a script written by Walcyr Carrasco and Mauro Wilson, and artistic direction by Amora Mautner, Êta Mundo Melhor! aims to combine nostalgia and contemporaneity. Amid Candinho's search for his son, the parallel nuclei offer plots of redemption, dreams and new perspectives, composing a narrative rich in affection, lightness and Brazilianness.
