'I grew up watching my family pick up trash on the beach,' says Anitta.

Singer Anitta was one of the attractions at the Earthshot Prize , an award created by Prince William that recognizes innovative solutions for the environment. The event took place on Wednesday evening, the 5th, at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, where she took the opportunity to reveal a family tradition.
"My family always raised me with this concern. We always went to the beach, and my mother and uncles always picked up the trash that people left on the beach. So, when I was little, seeing these examples from them, I ended up learning," she told Terra .
The artist emphasized that she tries to carry the same example forward in her life and influence her followers. "Nowadays I'm just passing it on. Lately, I've been attending many events with an environmental focus because I think young people need to be more concerned about this," she said.
Anitta also stated that she changed her habits and personal choices based on continuous learning about the subject. "I changed my daily life a lot. The decisions, for example, in my house, in my life, my career, what I need to buy and what I don't need," she added.
