Filming for 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' is expected to take place in Italy.

The long-awaited filming of "The Devil Wears Prada 2" began last week in New York, United States, almost two decades after the success of the first film, and is also expected to take place in Italy.

According to "The Hollywood Reporter", the sequel to the iconic 2006 film, scheduled to premiere in theaters in May 2026, is also scheduled to film in Italy.

So far, however, there is no official confirmation of the information nor any disclosure of which cities in the "Belpaese" could serve as the setting for the film.

The new film will feature part of the main cast, such as Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, and new names, including Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, Justin Theroux, Pauline Chalamet, among others.

Based on the book of the same name by Lauren Weisberger, "The Devil Wears Prada" follows Andy Sachs (Hathaway), a recent journalism graduate who lands one of the most coveted jobs in the publishing industry as an assistant to the feared editor Miranda Priestly (Streep).

Andy is immersed in the world of magazines and haute couture thanks to her fellow assistant (Blunt), but despite being a dream opportunity, she soon discovers that working with Miranda is more complicated than it seemed.

At the time, the film grossed $326 million at the global box office and earned Streep an Oscar nomination. In recent days, the first footage from the filming of the sequel has sparked excitement among fans on social media.
