Travelers have chosen the best city in Europe. It's not Paris, Rome, or London.

Halfway through their summer vacation, some have already traveled extensively, while others are just getting ready for their vacation. And those still undecided about their destination might be inspired by the latest "World's Best Awards," which identified the best European cities. Thousands of travelers cast their votes in the poll, crowning Florence this year.
In its "World's Best Awards" plebiscite, Travel Leisure magazine asked its readers to choose the best European cities for tourism. Voters were guided not only by the beauty of the places; they also considered the attractiveness of the monuments, the food, and the friendliness of the locals.
In these respects, Florence is unrivaled. The Italian city topped the ranking, scoring 90 out of 100 points . Even those who have visited the city more than a dozen times assure us that the city never gets boring. As the cradle of the Renaissance, Florence will delight connoisseurs of architecture and art. It's worth devoting some time not only to soak up the atmosphere of its streets but also to visit its numerous museums and art galleries, including the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, and Palazzo Pitti.
Florence is also one of Europe's culinary capitals. Alongside establishments serving homemade Italian food, you'll also find Michelin-starred restaurants. What also contributes to Florence's charm is the hospitality of its residents, undeterred by the visits of millions of foreign visitors.
Seville came in second, overtaking Granada in last place. Istanbul and Rome rounded out the top five. Also among the top 15 European cities were Siena, Porto, Madrid, Lisbon, Lyon, Prague, Salzburg, Córdoba, Athens, and Aix-en-Provence.
