The long November weekend is upon us, and it's a good idea to take advantage of it for travel. This month, Edinburgh, for example, will surprise us with its extraordinary climate, accessible from six Polish cities. Scotland's capital is considered by many to be the most beautiful city in the UK. Endless strolls through the atmospheric streets of the Old Town, watching the sunset from Edinburgh Castle, and visiting the local cafes are the perfect way to survive the autumn drizzle.

Why is it worth visiting Edinburgh in autumn?

Edinburgh in autumn is enveloped in a magical aura. Strolling the narrow, cobbled streets of the medieval city, tourists feel as if they were on a movie set. Some people think the walk resembles a scene from Harry Potter, while others imagine the scenery from Netflix's "Outlander." There are also those who prefer to fold their umbrellas (the chance of rain in November is very high) and enter one of the cozy cafes in the Old Town.

A must-see is the 12th-century Edinburgh Castle, but getting there requires climbing a series of stone steps. Once at the top, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view – from the terrace, you can see the hills surrounding the city, as well as a bit of the bay.

We will fly from Poland with Ryanair

There are plenty of connections from Poland to Edinburgh. Direct Ryanair flights to the Scottish capital are available from Gdańsk, Kraków, Poznań, and Rzeszów , and soon from Wrocław (from December) and Modlin (from March). Depending on the city chosen, the journey takes from 2 hours and 20 minutes to 3 hours. Ticket prices start from just a few dozen złoty one-way.

Edinburgh Airport is located very close to the city center. The bus journey takes just half an hour and costs £5 each way. You can also take the tram from the airport to the city.
